Facebook bug causing coronavirus legitimate posts marked as spam: executive
Facebook head of safety, on Tuesday the bug responsible for posting on topics including coronavirus mistakenly flagged as spam, prompting widespread complaints from both users of its flagship application and photo sharing application Instagram.
“This is a bug in the anti-spam system, not associated with changes in the labor moderator of our content,” Guy Rosen, vice president of Facebook’s integrity, said on Twitter.
“We’ve restored all the posts that are not completely removed, including posting on any topic – not only with regard to COVID-19. This is a problem with an automated system that removes link to the website of the rough, but not removed many of the other posts as well, “he said.

One user said he received a message that says “link is not allowed” after attempting to post an article Vox on coronavirus in his Instagram profile.
This problem came a day after Facebook announced that they had sent home for public health reasons all contract workers who perform services review content for social media giant, which is mostly outsources the job to an independent company.
“We believe the investments we made during the last three years has prepared us for this situation,” Facebook wrote in a blog post announcing the move, add will increase reliance on “proactive detection” to remove the infringing content.
“That said, there may be some limitations of this approach and we may see some longer response times and make more mistakes as a result,” said the post.
